YOUR BULLETS (ONE PER LINE)
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Verb β What β Measurable result. Example: "Grew organic search traffic 240% in 9 months by shipping 60 SEO briefs." A strong verb starts the bullet (ownership, not participation), the middle explains what you did, and the end quantifies the outcome β percentage, money, time, or volume. Recruiters scan for exactly these three parts, and so do we: each bullet here is graded on opener strength, metrics, voice and length.
The biggest offenders: responsible for, helped, worked on, assisted, involved in, participated, handled, supported, tasked with, contributed to. These describe presence, not performance β "responsible for managing the Instagram account" tells the recruiter you had a duty, not that you achieved anything. Swap them for ownership verbs: Led, Built, Grew, Cut, Launched, Shipped, Automated, Mentored, Negotiated. One verb change plus one number usually transforms a C-grade bullet into an A.
Each bullet is scored out of 100 across five signals: opener strength (40 points β strong action verb vs weak opener vs no verb), measurable result (35 points β percentages, currency, counts, durations like "240%", "βΉ14L/year", "9 months"), no first-person pronouns (10 points β drop I, we, my), scannable length (15 points β 6 to 26 words is the sweet spot), and passive voice penalty (β10 β "was responsible", "were completed"). 80+ is an A, 62-79 B, 45-61 C, 30-44 D, below 30 F.
Numbers do three jobs at once: they prove impact (anyone can claim they "improved" something; "improved conversion 8.4%" is evidence), they make bullets scannable (digits pop out of a wall of text β recruiters spend 6-8 seconds on first pass), and they give interviewers a hook to ask about. If you genuinely cannot measure, use scope instead: "a team of 5", "11 services", "60+ interviews", "9 months". No numbers at all is the single most common reason bullets score low here.
No. The grading runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript β nothing is sent to any server, nothing is logged, and nothing persists after you close or reload the page. Paste real bullets freely, including confidential work content. This page even works offline once loaded.
Three to five per role is the standard. Your most recent role gets the most (4-5 bullets), older roles fewer (2-3). Every bullet should earn its place: if a bullet has no number and no strong verb, it is taking space from one that does. Use this tool line-by-line, fix every C or below, then paste the improved versions back into your resume β most users lift their average grade by 20+ points in one pass.
Look closer β almost every role has measurable surface: volume handled (tickets/day, clients/week), consistency (zero missed deadlines across 40 launches), improvement over time (cut onboarding from 3 weeks to 6 days), or team impact (mentored 4 interns, 2 converted to hires). Frequency and scope count as numbers too. What does NOT count: "many", "several", "a lot of" β vague quantifiers signal that you did not actually track your own work.
